It's Sunday! It's the beginning of a new week. I love Sundays! It is a day to refresh, relax, rejuvenate for the new week ahead. What a wonderful day today! Although I worked the past two nights and chose to stay up and attend church and dine with friends today, I am so thankful I did. God had a message just for me this morning!
I have been battling this huge burden in my life lately that has been weighing me down and has slowly been depleting the joy that I so want to display in my life. I think that is why God has placed it upon my heart to start this blog, which is a huge challenge but one that I am willing to work at, for I am not the best speaker nor writer, so I apologize in advance for misspelled words or the poor grammar! Anyways, this battle...
There is a story in the Bible about a King named Jehoshaphat who was confronted with this huge battle upon his kingdom. Do you know what the first thing he did was when he was told that a huge army was coming to make war? The Bible said "Jehoshaphat resolved to inquire to the Lord" (2 Chronicles 20:3). He went to the Lord and asked what do I do? Sometimes I think we get caught up in trying to fight the battles in our life all by our self and forget who is ultimately fighting for us. We are not alone! God says " Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God's" (2 Chron. 20:15). Wow!
God spoke to me this morning and reassured me that HE is ABLE! I love the lyrics of this song:
God is AbleHe will never failHe is almighty God
For the Lord, our God is able
Lifted up, He defeated the graveraised to life, our God is ableIn His name, we overcomeFor the Lord, our God is Able
Isn't that awesome and so encouraging?
"For Gods love has given me great JOY and encouragement, because God has refreshed my heart." (Philemon v.7)
OH, what a HAPPY DAY!
